Many volunteers are needed to help setup and sort donated items the day before the event as well as during the Exchange. HomecomingOctober 13-14, 2017 A weekend filled with athletic events, food, and fun for the entire School. Volunteer opportunities include decorating, helping in the School Store, Concessions Booth, helping with activities on spirit alley including face painting, spirit giveaways and more! Holiday ShoppesNovember 11, 2017 A Flint Hill tradition featuring more than 30 boutique vendors of high quality jewelry, home decor, clothing, accessories, food and much more. Many volunteers are needed on the day of the event and online volunteer signup is coming soon. Volunteer opportunities include greeting, hospitality, Kids’ Space, bake sale, parent tables, and vendor support. WinterfestJanuary 20, 2018 A day filled with basketball games, food, and fun activities for everyone. Volunteers are needed to sell concessions in the Igloo, staff the activity booths including spirit giveaways, face painting, and more! Staff and Faculty Appreciation Events Help us recognize our outstanding faculty and staff as we provide special treats throughout the year. SpringfestApril 21, 2018 This event is similar to Homecoming and Winterfest, it is a day filled with sporting events, food and fun activities for everyone as we cheer on our spring athletes. Volunteers are needed to help sell concessions in the Hut, and handout sprit giveaways. Grandparents & Special Friends DayMay 11, 2018 This event is a time when students in the Lower and Middle schools showcase their work for their Grandparents and Special Friends. Volunteers are needed to help decorate, guide grandparents around the school, and serve breakfast. Flint Hill Golf Invitational - Westfields Golf Club Clifton, VAMay 24, 2018 All levels of golfers are welcome. Be a “Husky Sponsor” and bring your foursome for a day on the links while supporting the Parents’ Association Endowment for Financial Aid in Honor of Sally Hazel. Or, register as an individual and we will place you in a foursome. Not a golfer? Volunteers are needed to solicit raffle donations and player prizes, serve as hole-in-one contest witnesses, assemble player welcome bags, and decorate the clubhouse for dinner. YEAR LONG OPPORTUNITIES MILLER HOUSE MAILERS Volunteer opportunities involve helping the Development Office with various mailings including the Annual Fund, Alumni, and Parents Association. BAKING/HOSPITALITY Do you enjoy baking? Help is needed on an on-call basis to provide baked goods for various events including Teacher Appreciation events, The Holiday Shoppes Bake Sale, and as additional opportunities arise. (Home-baked and store bought are equally appreciated as you are able!) BOX TOPS This is an a great way for any parent to volunteer on your own time! Help promote this fundraising program by collecting your own boxtops and encouraging friends and family to do so as well. Check your household items for Boxtops and cut them out. Drop them off at Collection Boxes on the Lower and MIddle School Campus in Miller House, or Division Offices, or on the Upper School Campus at the front reception desk. A volunteer group gathers a few times a year to clip and send into the company to be redeemed for cash for our School! IGLOO AND HUSKY HUT CONCESSIONS Do you enjoy seeing your child interact with his or her friends after school? This is a great opportunity for you to work a shift in the after school IGLOO from 2:30-3:30. The Igloo (inside the Upper School) and Husky Hut (outside near the Athletic Fields) are also open during many sporting events. If you enjoy attending athletic events on the West Campus then we need your help. The Hut is open for some of our home games and volunteers are needed for working the snack bar and grilling during the fall and spring athletic seasons. The Igloo is open for athletic games during the Winter season. Or if you like to shop, help with our bi-weekly trips to Costco to purchase items to keep the Igloo fully stocked. SPECIAL OLYMPICS Help with two Special Olympic events hosted on campus: one in the fall and one in the Spring. LS and MS Lunch Program: Pizza Thursdays The hot lunch program is in need of volunteers to help. On Thursdays, we box pizzas, deliver to classrooms, serve to Middle Schoolers, and collect bags for classrooms. This is a wonderful way to meet other parents and support the School.
