REGISTER FOR NEW PARENT NIGHT

We look forward to seeing you at our New Parent Night on Wednesday, May 7, at 6:30 p.m., at the Peterson Middle School. The conversations with administrators and parents about what to expect next year will be a great way to connect with the Flint Hill community and prepare for the transition. If you haven’t already, please register now!

RESOURCES IN HUSKY HUB

You can access our Resource Board in Husky Hub. At the end of April, the “Preparing for the 2025-26 School Year” tile will be added. This resource provides back-to-school checklists for each division as well as instructions for completing required student forms such as health, bus service, after-care, pick-up authorization, and more.

While in Husky Hub, you can also click “Child’s Name” or “Children” to access information about your student(s) and click “Directories” to access the School’s Online Directory.

COURSE PLACEMENT AND REGISTRATION

Course registration looks different for each division. Information about this was included in your welcome email after submitting your enrollment contract. A quick summary for each division is below.

Lower School

Grades 5-6 Math Placement and Course Schedules: Course schedules for incoming 5th and 6th grade students are created by the Lower School Office. Transcripts, the math placement survey, and teacher recommendations help us recommend the appropriate course selection for your child. In mid-June, the Lower School will send information to new families about 5th and 6th grade math placement as well as the music selection process and placement. There is no course registration for Junior Kindergarten through 4th grade.

The Grades 5-6 Math Placement Survey and a parent program, the Math Progression Through High School, is Wednesday, April 9, 8:00-9:00 a.m.

Middle School

Upper School

Tuesday, April 8, 12:00 p.m.: Virtual Q&A on Course Selection with Assistant Director of the Upper School and Academic Dean Debbie Ayers.
Saturday, April 12, 8:00 a.m.: Placement surveys are held on our Upper School Campus. If you cannot attend the placement survey and the instances in the form apply to you, please contact Maha Morse to schedule an alternative date. These alternative dates are scheduled during school hours, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Wednesday, April 23: Incoming student course registration is open.
Wednesday, April 30: Deadline for course registration.

SUMMER ON THE HILL: SPACES AVAILABLE

Spaces are still available for Summer on the Hill! Summer on the Hill offers enrichment, academic, and athletic camps, as well as other options via our partner camps.

ARTS JAM: EXPERIENCE OUR PERFORMING ARTS PROGRAM

We invite you to join us for Flint Hill’s annual Arts Jam concert on Tuesday, April 8, at 7:00 p.m. at the Center for the Arts on the Fairfax Campus of George Mason University. The concert features the Upper School Fine Arts ensembles. The performance is family-friendly and appropriate for all ages. Admission is free, and no reservations are necessary.
