Let us help you plan your summer — Registration for Summer on the Hill is open!
For younger campers, we are once again partnering with Headfirst Summer Camps to offer a wide range of programming for students in rising JK to Grade 7. New offerings in 2019 include Innovators, Inc. for rising second- and third-graders; and new weekly themes for STEM camps, Jr. Day Camp and Day Camp. And that’s not all — we are partnering with Oak Marr Rec Center to bring instructional swimming to Day and Junior Day campers this summer! Headfirst campers will get to work with Oak Marr’s highly-trained lifeguards and swim instructors throughout the week on goals that are kid-specific, from jumping into the deep end to side breathing.
The Washington Nationals Baseball Camp will return to Flint Hill this summer, and as a new offering, Headfirst is partnering with DC United to offer their exclusive soccer camps in Virginia and Maryland in 2019, including a one-week session at the Upper School. The DC United camp will run during the week of July 29, with registration launching on February 1.
In addition to offerings from Headfirst, Flint Hill will host camps covering a range of topics and interests for students, of all ages, throughout the summer. Students can learn something new or nurture an existing passion with camps for robotics, public speaking, ceramics, and writing. They can also take to the court with camps for basketball, volleyball, and girls’ soccer, or give back through Habitat for Humanity or our Hilltop Service program.
Join us for a day of basketball and an activity-filled, family-friendly dinner before we make Husky History with a special announcement you won’t want to miss!
Bring the whole family and watch the games from the family watch area! Enjoy bite-sized dinner, and have some fun in the photo or GIF booth. Take home a special creation from our paper artist, or let your little ones color with Klondike! See you on Saturday!

Flint Hill to Celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day on February 11
On Monday, February 11, we will celebrate National Women and Girls in Sports Day (NGWSD), a national observance celebrating the extraordinary achievements of women and girls in sports. This year’s NGWSD theme is Lead Her Forward, to honor the many ways that sports push girls and women to achieve excellence and realize their boundless potential. To celebrate the event, students across divisions will participate in age-appropriate activities in the morning and afternoon. The day will begin with Lower School Inspiration, where Director of Athletics Diana Parente and Flint Hill coaches Jody Patrick and Carrol DeNure will participate in a panel discussion, with members of the Athletic Advisory Council.
In the afternoon, students in Grades 7-12 will attend a discussion in the Upper School Gym with Executive Director of the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation, Jane Rodgers; Title IX Coordinator for the DC State Athletic Association, Natalie Randolph; retired basketball player Kathy Wilson; and Washington Spirit captain Estelle Johnson.

Volunteer for the Igloo!
A new year means new opportunities to volunteer and spend time with our Upper School students — the Igloo needs you! The Igloo is a great place to see Flint Hill students at their finest – happy to have finished another day – and hungry for a snack! It’s a quick shift, 2:15-3:40 p.m. daily, and no prior experience is necessary.
Click here to view January opportunities, and sign up for a shift or two. Thank you for your support. We hope to see you there!
We Need your Boxtops!
Clip your Boxtops and provide funds for Flint Hill! Just 10 Boxtops are equal to $1 for our school. Collection boxes are located in the Upper, Middle and Lower School Offices as well as the Miller House. Save Boxtops year-round (and drop them off as you have them); we will be counting more Boxtops in the spring! Want to get involved or have questions? Reach out to this year’s Boxtops Chair Emily Weems P’29.
