2022-23 Fall Athletics
Greetings Flint Hill Community,
I hope everyone is in the midst of a great summer filled with lots of laughs, relaxation and memories with family and friends. For our new Huskies, I want to introduce myself and share some insight to help you have a fantastic start at Flint Hill! The community is what makes this place special, and I trust you will form important bonds and share amazing experiences over your time here.
To our returning Huskies, we look forward to welcoming you back in just a few weeks. While some of you were on campus over the summer helping with camps, working out in the weight room or participating in summer leagues and practices, we can’t wait to have you back full time. Our Flint Hill community and athletic program will continue to embrace a commitment to excellence in all endeavors, across all programs and grade levels while investing deeply into each individual.
Why are athletics at Flint Hill important? Team participation and physical activity are powerful activities that promote and display the values that make Flint Hill special. We have focused on establishing well-run athletic programs that are a balance of competitive and enriching, stemming from a commitment of our coaches to create a well-rounded athletic experience and the dedication of our students to strive for excellence both inside and outside of the classroom. Every year our goal is growth in this arena to ensure our students have the best educational experience possible.
Our Upper School fall sports are scheduled to start on Monday, August 22 with the exception of Varsity Football which starts on Monday, August 15. Middle School sports officially begin on Wednesday, September 7. If you signed up to participate in a fall sport, please visit Husky Hub to gather the latest information on tryouts, preseason practices, and seasonal logistics. You can find all Upper School and Middle School fall game schedules by visiting the athletic page of our website.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS
Our Upper School fall athletic programs will be hosting a Meet the Coaches night on Friday, August 26 at 5:45 p.m. All fall families will meet in the gym to hear a few words from your Flint Hill Athletic Department. Following that, each sport will head to a different location to hear sports-specific information from your respective coaching staff. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend.
ATHLETIC PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS
All families participating in fall athletics should visit Husky Hub to ensure all clearance documents have been fulfilled. This process must be completed each year, and it involves student and parent participation. The physical form includes all the necessary information needed to participate in athletics. All medical forms must be complete with the proper signatures and turned in by the start of fall sports in order for students to participate. Students who have yet to complete this step will not be allowed to participate in any athletic activity. If you have questions about this requirement, please contact our Director of Health Services, Mary Hart, or our Head Athletic Trainer, Derek Ross.
Fall sports are a great way to transition into a new school year. For new students and families, it’s an opportunity to get acclimated to the school and build some fantastic connections. For returning students, it is a chance to reconnect after a summer spent apart and build camaraderie with classmates while representing our school together. To sign up for a sport, please email:
Middle School Sports: Adam Rice, Associate Director of Athletics
Upper School Sports: Patrice Arrington, Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Information
