Introducing the Senior Class to Alumni Programs

While students in the Class of 2022 focus on their final months as seniors, Flint Hill’s Alumni Office is preparing them for their next era as Alumni Huskies! Six years ago, the Alumni Office started a program called Almost Alumni Kickoffs. Throughout the months of January and February, Director of Alumni Relations Maria Taylor, Alumni Ambassador Rico Reed and Director of the Annual Fund Chris Kitzmiller teach the seniors about the amazing Flint Hill alumni community and the programs and events they can participate in once they graduate.

Recently, this year’s seniors were introduced to the Almost Alumni Kickoffs and were treated to lunch from Panera and a lively game of Kahoot! to test their knowledge and learn about the Alumni Office’s college dinner program, how to best stay in touch with Flint Hill once they graduate, and the purpose of the Annual Fund. This year’s senior class is particularly competitive, and there were battles to become podium winners and earn a Starbucks gift card. The seniors were also asked to discuss ways that they would like to celebrate being almost-alumni throughout the spring.

A Senior-Alumni Committee, which is formed in the fall, also works with the Alumni Office throughout the year to plan celebrations for the seniors, launch a Senior Spirit Giving Campaign for the Annual Fund, and plan some of the end-of-year events such as Senior-Alumni Move Up Day. “We’re having fun celebrating the seniors now as almost-alumni,” Taylor said, “and look forward to celebrating the Class of 2022 when they officially join the alumni community in June!”
