Robotics Team to Compete in State Competition

Members of Flint Hill's Robotics Team 6341, Double-0-Ducks, will compete with division-winning teams from across Virginia at the First Tech Challenge's state competition in April. Our Flint Hill Huskies and their robot earned their spot at the tournament with their win in a division competition earlier in the year.

“We've taken away a few things. Efficiency is key. Not just moving around the field, but a robot's ability to maneuver itself and freight to score the most points. … precise movements are also important. One small mistake can lead to penalties significant enough to change the tide of the game,” said Ben Hinrichs ‘24.

FTC robotics teams design, build and program an original robot to perform a series of tasks while earning as many points as possible. Teams with the best performances move on to higher-level competitions, progressing from local divisions to international.

“The key ingredients to our success in the previous competition were teamwork and communication. We work together well and take the time to understand and consider each other’s ideas,” said Sabrina Michl ‘25.

We wish our Husky Robotics Team well on the next leg of their journey as they work together to achieve great results!
