THE LATEST
Optional Middle School Student/Parent Visitation — Tuesday, August 31, 9-10 a.m. and 3-4 p.m.
Would your child benefit from visiting the building prior to the first day of school? Feel free to bring them in on Tuesday, August 31, to acclimate to the space, walk their schedule, and tour the building. Please note that these are all activities that we will do as part of our regular orientation the following day, but we recognize that some of us appreciate a head start!
Fall Uniform Exchange
Thank you to all our families who donated to the Uniform Exchange. We are no longer accepting donations, but will make you aware when the next donation opportunity is available.
- Volunteering

Looking to volunteer?
Additional volunteers are needed Tuesday, August 24; Wednesday, August 25; and Thursday, August 26. This is a great opportunity to meet other parents while helping to set up and organize donations for the event. Click here to volunteer. - Shopping
Tuesday, August 24 - Thursday, August 26
Plan to “shop” the exchange at your convenience — Tuesday, August 24; Wednesday, August 25; and Thursday, August 26, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Enter the Lower School main entrance, and you will be directed to the Commons. There will be volunteers available to help you shop. If you find that an item you have taken home does not fit your child, please feel free to bring it back, and we’ll happily put it back in the exchange and help you find something that fits.
Flint Hill polos, P.E. uniforms, athletic practice clothing and spirit wear, will be available for JK-8 families. Item availability is based on donations and will be first-come, first-served.
Student Schedules Online
Specific teacher and class assignments are now available. To access your child’s class placement, log in to the Husky Hub, click “Children” and select your child’s name. From the “Progress” page, scroll down to view your child’s classes and teachers.

Parent-Advisor Virtual Conferences
To facilitate the important partnership for the school year ahead, advisors will be hosting parent conferences on Monday, August 30, and Tuesday, August 31. These 15-minute virtual conferences will allow you to connect with your child’s advisor and share any helpful information. The link for scheduling your conferences is available on the Resource Board. If you have any difficulties or questions about the online scheduling system, please contact Michelle Keatley at mkeatley@flinthill.org, 703.584.2370.
Medication Drop-Off
For students who will need to keep medication on campus during the school year, we will have a medication drop-off day on Thursday, August 26, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Upper School circle.
Families will pull into the circle, and a nurse will come to your car to collect the medication and the appropriate forms. As a reminder, all prescription medication must be accompanied by the physician's order on the Medication Authorization Form, which must be completed and signed by the prescribing physician.
All medication must have the pharmacy label on it. You can access the forms from your Magnus account/Husky Hub resource board, under the Planning for the School Year tile. All over-the-counter medication must be accompanied by the Medication Authorization Form and must be completed and signed by a parent or guardian. The medication must be in the original packaging and must be administered according to the package instructions, including the time and route to be administered.
If you are unable to come to the School on the medication drop-off day, please call to schedule an appointment with one of the nurses prior to the start of school.
For medication refills throughout the school year, you will need to call and schedule appointments on Wednesdays at the Upper School Campus.
