Upper School Newsletter - May 25, 2022
Message From Division Director
We have entered the time of year where each day is full of end-of-year rituals and traditions. This week, we had our last town meeting of the year, our last athletics awards ceremony and our last day of classes. Seniors have begun presenting their senior projects to their review committees, a Flint Hill tradition that was new to me that I have quickly come to appreciate.
Mixed in all of these summary activities you will notice information about next year is being released. If you are worried about keeping it all straight, just let Husky Hub do the heavy lifting. The resource tiles on Husky Hub will always be there over the summer when you need a reminder of a date, policy or schedule.

Director of the Upper School

Reading Day Attendance Policies
Reading Day is a unique school day from the rest of the year. On that day, we create open periods of time for students to review material with their teachers in advance of their semester exams. We require ninth graders to attend school that day to make sure they take advantage of this great opportunity. Tenth graders and eleventh graders have optional attendance on that day.
However, we do not allow students to leave and return to campus that day. To make sure that we have accurate attendance on that open day, we require students to stay on campus until the end of the day once they arrive. Tenth and eleventh graders may show up at any time that day (making sure they sign in through SchoolPass), but once on campus they must stay until 2:45 p.m.

All About the Lower School!
The last few days have been all about the Lower School. On Friday, I joined sixth grade parents as they decorated student lounges for a big reveal on Monday. These Huskies will be making the leap to Middle School soon, and I think we all just wanted them to know how proud we are of them. Also, who doesn’t love a celebration? Read more.
