THE LATEST
First Week of School Schedule
View the schedule for the first week of school. Please note that orientation activities are spread throughout the week and that students will have classes on each day. As a reminder, the optional lunch service doesn’t begin until September 7. Students will need to bring their own lunch for the first week.
View the 20.21 Daily Bell Schedule
Please review the 20.21 bell schedule, which represents a return to many of the scheduling principles that we used before the COVID-19 pandemic. Please note that students are required to be in advisory by 8:10 a.m. each day and they are dismissed at 2:45 p.m., but strongly encouraged to attend office hours between 2:45 p.m. and 3:15 p.m.
Lunch Seating
We will begin the year with new protocols to help spread out the students during lunch as much as possible. Please review the information about lunch seating here. We will also go over this information with students during one of the orientation sessions.
Navigating Carpool and Arrival and Dismissal Information
As you gear up for next week, we created short video guides to help you navigate carpool for pick-up and drop-off. For updated information on arrival and dismissal, visit the “Preparing Tile” on Husky Hub. Carpool signs were mailed to Lower and Middle School families on August 24.
Are you picking up students from Middle School and Upper School? Learn more about this year’s new, more convenient procedure and where you go for pick-up and drop-off.
Stay in the Know! All School Calendar is Available
Did you know that you can have the electronic All School Calendar feed directly into your iCal or Google calendars? The electronic All School Calendar is where you can find when and where upcoming school events are being held — and starting this year, it’s where you’ll find all the Google Meet codes for virtual events. No more having to pull up the Weekly Newsletter to search for Meet links.
To get to the All School Calendar, log in to Husky Hub and click on the Calendar icon in the top menu bar. Scroll down and on the bottom left, you can toggle on and off to select which calendars you’d like to display. We strongly recommend displaying the All School Calendar.
In less than one minute, you can watch this video on how to feed the All School Calendar into your personal calendar. Fast forward to the 3:49 mark for the calendar tip. Watch the full video if you’d like a general refresher on Husky Hub.
And remember, the School’s IT department isn’t just for students; it’s a parent resource too! Just email helpdesk@flinthill.org to ask a question or set up a time for a private tutorial.
Save the Date: Auditions for the fall play, Radium Girls, September 7-9
Auditions for the Upper School fall play, Radium Girls will be held after school on September 7, 8 and 9. More details can be found here. If you have any questions, please contact Upper School Theatre Arts Teacher Ms. Kirsten McKinney.
Making Our Attendance More Efficient and Safer with SchoolPass
We have invested in an innovative, user-friendly system called SchoolPass to help manage school attendance, carpool and dismissal more efficiently and in real-time. If you did not receive a welcome email from SchoolPass, please email helpdesk@flinthill.org. It’s important parents have downloaded the SchoolPass app.
Click on the Attendance Policy and Procedure Tile on the Resource tab in Husky Hub for directions on how to use SchoolPass to notify the School about absences, late arrivals and early dismissals.

PARENT TO-DO'S
Health Forms Due September 1 — New and Returning Students
The deadline for student health forms, hard copy and digital was August 1st. We understand the difficulties in obtaining doctor’s appointments, however, until all required forms are submitted then your child cannot physically come into the school or participate in school related activities.
We also understand that most insurances only cover one well visit per year, however, unless you are a new student to Flint Hill, most offices are able to bill the visit differently. For example, they may call it a mini sports physical. If your particular office does not provide this service, you can go to most urgent care facilities or Minute Clinics and they are able to assess your student and fill out the yearly required one-page Flint Hill Academics, Athletics and Activities Clearance Form.
Feel free to contact the Upper School Nurse, Liz Hammond via phone 703-584-2396 or email.
