Friday, September 14 Join fellow Flint Hill parents at this round-robin tennis tournament, and skills and drills clinic followed by a light lunch and raffle. Whether you are advanced or new to the game, this is a wonderful opportunity to meet other families and enjoy a day of tennis on the beautiful Upper School Tennis courts. The event is free, but we do ask that you to register in advance. Spaces are limited to the first 28 registrants for the tournament and the first 10 registrants for the skills and drills clinic! Friday, October 19 and Saturday, October 20 Join the Flint Hill community for a weekend filled with athletic events, food and fun for the entire family. Events kick off Friday evening with the Powder Puff football game and bonfire. The Parents’ Association will have food available for purchase at PA Spirit Tent. Warm up with free Hot Chocolate or quench your thirst with free water. Check out Spirit Alley for family friendly activities and fun giveaways!
The Flint Hill Holiday Shoppes
Saturday, November 10 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m The Upper School A Flint Hill tradition featuring more than 30 boutique vendors with high quality jewelry, home decor, clothing, accessories, food and much more. Shop all day and check off your gift giving list! Many volunteers are needed on the day of the event. Volunteer opportunities include greeting, hospitality, Kids’ Space, parent tables, and vendor support.
LOWER AND MIDDLE SCHOOL Pizza Thursdays
Thursdays are for Pizza! The hot lunch program is in need of volunteers to help with Pizza Thursdays from 10:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. on the Lower and Middle School Campus. This is a wonderful way to meet fellow parents and support the School. Join volunteers to box pizzas, deliver to classrooms, serve to Middle Schoolers, and collect bags from the classrooms. Volunteers can join one team (for a monthly opportunity) or join more than one team to make it a bi-monthly, or weekly opportunity.
August 28 and March 8. This is a free event where families benefit from the gently used uniforms donated from other Flint Hill families. One event is held in August to prepare for the new year, with a follow up event in March to get a jump-start on preparing for the spring. Many volunteers are needed to help setup and sort donated uniforms the day before the event as well as during the Exchange. Volunteers get first opportunity to “shop” while they sort!
Hut and Grill Team and Igloo
A unique opportunity to interact with other Flint Hill families, and see your students and their friends on campus and at athletic events! The Igloo (inside the Upper School) is open daily from 2:30 p.m.-3:40 p.m, and during some athletic events. The Husky Hut (outside near the Athletic Fields) is also open during many sporting events. Click here for volunteer opportunities. Many volunteers are needed to fill these roles throughout the year. Volunteers can work the snack bar, work in the Igloo, or grill during the fall and spring athletic seasons.
Flint Hill Fund
The Flint Hill Annual Fund is the largest fundraiser for Flint Hill School. This effort provide critical resources for every program, every teacher and every student in our school. Volunteers serve in a variety of ways: as Grade Chairs, Alumni Class Representatives or as a phonathon caller Phonathon callers come to campus for a couple hours to call fellow parents or alumni and encourage their support of Flint Hill School.
MILLER HOUSE MAILERS
This opportunity is a great way to get involved for a an hour or two as your time allows, in support of the ongoing commitment to engage and communicate with our Flint Hill families and alumni. Volunteer opportunities involve helping the Advancement Office with various mailings including the Annual Fund, Alumni, and Parents’ Association.
The Box Top fundraising program is an opportunity for our families to earn cash for Flint Hill School by collecting their boxtops and encouraging friends and family to do so as well. The process is simple: check your household items for Box Tops and cut them out. Then, drop them off at collection boxes on the Lower and MIddle School Campuses, The Miller House, Division Offices, or on the Upper School Campus at the front reception desk. Volunteers gather a few times a year to clip and send the Box Tops into the company to be redeemed for cash for our School!
Help us recognize our outstanding faculty and staff throughout the year! Volunteers provide special treats throughout the year. In addition, volunteers will organize a final luncheon in appreciation of faculty and staff.
The Parents’ Association supports the Special Olympics by providing volunteers for two events held on the Flint Hill School campus. Volunteers are needed to grill, prepare lunch, and keep the Husky Hut open as lunch is provided for all athletes.
Saturday, April 17 Upper School Celebrate Flint Hill’s spring athletes! Start the day with the Spring Tennis Social. Later, pick up some spirit giveaways, grab lunch from the Husky Hut―or volunteer for a shift! Head to the fields to cheer on our teams. Huskies of all ages will enjoy bounce houses and spirit giveaways! Visit www.flinthill.org/springfest to learn more or signup to volunteer. Volunteers from all divisions of the school are needed to help decorate, assist with activities, work in concessions and work in the School Store.
Grandparents & Special Friends Day
Friday, May 10 Middle and Lower Schools A favorite day for our Flint Hill School Lower and Middle Schoolers. This event is a time for students to showcase their work for their Grandparents and Special Friends. Volunteers are needed to,escort guests around the school, set up and serve breakfast.
Thursday, May 23 Westfields Golf Club Enjoy a fun day on the links, while supporting the Parents’ Association Endowment for Financial Aid in Honor of Sally Hazel. Golfers of all levels are welcome. Sign up as a “Husky Sponsor” to enter your foursome, or register as an individual and we will find a foursome for you! Volunteers are needed to solicit raffle donations and player prizes. Additionally, volunteers serve as hole-in-one contest witnesses, assemble player welcome bags, and decorate the clubhouse for dinner.
Do you enjoy giving back to families when they need a little “sunshine” in their life? Help is needed on an on-call basis to provide baked goods, home cooked meals, or encouraging support to Flint Hill Families.
