Spirit and Service: Tip Off Classic and Food for Others Meal Packing

Cheer on your Huskies at the 17th annual varsity basketball home opener and give back to the community on the same day!

This year Flint Hill is hosting a community-wide meal pack to benefit Food for Others on Friday, December 3 from 4-8 pm during the Tip Off Classic basketball tournament. Parents are invited to donate food and volunteer time to pack meals.

The Igloo will move outside on both days to create the Igloo Outpost, a festive outdoor eating area with seating and heaters. Friday will even feature two food trucks Roaming Coyote and Rocklands BBQ.

Join the students in a school-wide spirit day, and remember to wear white to show your Husky pride to support our basketball teams as they compete during this favorite Flint Hill tradition! Check out the schedule below and learn how you can help.

Here’s how you can help: 

Too many children in Fairfax County suffer from food insecurity and don’t have enough food to eat on the weekends. Flint Hill will be creating weekend power packs with the food needed to provide these kids with healthy meals. After the event, Food for Others will distribute these meals to kids in need. Parents can help by:

DONATING FOOD: Everyone is encouraged to donate items during Week of Thankful Giving Monday, Nov. 29 - Wednesday, Dec. 1.

PACKING MEALS: Upper School students and all parents are welcome. Mr. Lamont will share information with Middle School students.

VOLUNTEERING: Help sell concessions during the games on Friday and Saturday.
