The Head of School – August 20, 2025

August 20, 2025
Flint Hill Community,
As we prepare to welcome our Huskies back next week, our campus is already buzzing with energy. This week, the Flint Hill team gathered for our annual preplanning — welcoming new colleagues, preparing classrooms, and engaging in meaningful collaboration and professional learning.
At Flint Hill, we believe in an innovative mindset, as well as modeling lifelong learning for our students. This summer, over 50 members of our faculty and staff dedicated time to formal professional development — exploring new approaches to student leadership, the arts, sciences, humanities, and innovation. From Harvard’s Project Zero and the Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning, to AP Institutes, national conferences, and on-campus workshops, our educators invested in deepening their practice so that Flint Hill remains a leader in innovative, student-centered education.
I am deeply grateful for the commitment of our Husky team, who balanced family time with these formalized experiences, as well as the annual rethinking and refreshing that happens for all of our teachers, courses, and programs. Their dedication ensures our classrooms and campus spaces are not only ready for students next week, but vibrant with fresh ideas and opportunities for our students.
I cannot wait to have families on campus next week for Hopes & Dreams and Advisory conferences (Lower and Middle School), and Upper School student orientation experiences on Monday and Tuesday. I look forward to an inspiring year together at Flint Hill.
Go Huskies!
