The Head of School – January 7, 2026
January 7, 2026
Flint Hill Community,
I hope you enjoyed a restorative winter break — whether through travel, rest, or meaningful time with family and friends. As we return, we do so at a natural midpoint in the school year: a moment to reset, reflect, and look ahead to a new semester filled with possibility.
This is a wonderful time to engage your child(ren) in thoughtful reflection. What felt successful this past semester? What proved challenging? What risks did they take — or might they consider taking next? Where is there an opportunity for productive struggle, growth, or trying something new? I always encourage these conversations before semester grade reports are released, as they invite reflection on the learning journey itself — not just the outcomes.
At Flint Hill, we believe growth comes from curiosity, reflection, and the courage to evolve. My hope is that our students, families, educators, coaches, and broader community continue to ask what’s working well, what needs refinement, and how we can collectively grow into our best selves, our strongest community, and our most impactful learning environment for every Husky.
As part of that reflection, I offer one final reminder to nominate any Flint Hill employees who exemplify our Driving Spirit. These nominations are a meaningful way to recognize the adults who inspire, challenge, and support our students each day. Nominations close this week, and recipients will be celebrated at Flint Hill Day in February.
Happy New Year. May this next chapter bring renewed purpose, growth, and joy as we pursue both new resolutions — and enduring commitments — together.
Go Huskies!
