    Letter From the Division Director 

    Our final full day of field trips takes place this Friday, May 1. Both grades will spend the day in Washington, D.C. Please review the information below and note that regular arrival and dismissal times apply.

    7th Grade Museum Trip

    As part of our current civil rights unit in U.S. History, students will visit the National Museum of African American History and Culture. Students will be prepared for the trip through various in-class activities, readings, videos, and discussions. 

    • Regular 8:00 a.m. arrival and 3:25 p.m. dismissal times.
    • There are no academic classes or athletic practices.
    • Students should be in regular school dress with comfortable walking shoes.
    • Students should leave MacBooks at home.
    • Students will need a daypack, water bottle, bag lunch, an additional snack, and a hat/sunscreen as needed.
    • Similar to our trip in the fall, students with a documented need for emergency medication (e.g. inhaler or Epi-pen) must self-carry those items in order to attend the trip.
    • Please contact your child’s history teacher if you have questions.

    8th Grade Advisory Day

    With the goals of connecting with each other and exploring key areas of our nation’s capital, advisory groups will travel by Metro to Washington, D.C., and participate in a photography scavenger hunt. 

    • Regular 8:00 a.m. arrival and 3:25 p.m. dismissal times.
    • There are no academic classes or athletic practices.
    • Students should be in regular school dress with comfortable walking shoes.
    • Students should leave MacBooks at home.
    • Students will need a daypack, water bottle, money for lunch (~$20), an additional snack, and a hat/sunscreen as needed.
    • Students will travel by Metro and participate in activities throughout the city.
    • Similar to our trip in the fall, students with a documented need for emergency medication (e.g. inhaler or Epi-pen) must self-carry those items in order to attend the trip.
    • Please contact your child’s advisor if you have questions.
