Our Middle School Quarter 2 Reports are available on Husky Hub at 4:00 p.m. today. As always, this is an opportunity to practice keeping quarter and semester grades in perspective — focusing on the journey, recognizing what this current performance feedback can offer, and avoiding the kind of disproportionate fixation on grades that can limit growth.
In addition to the letter grade for each course, teachers will provide narrative comments about your child’s progress — identifying key strengths that have contributed to their success as well as constructive feedback to help them further their growth. We will review the narrative comments with students here at school as part of their first semester reflection. I encourage you to ask them for their thoughts as well; what did they notice? How will they use this feedback?
Your gradebook view in Husky Hub, under “Progress,” now defaults to the third quarter. If you wish to view previous quarters, you can click on “First Semester” and select the appropriate quarter under “Show.” Please see the diagrams below.

Director of the Middle School

Check Your Child’s Clothing Labels
Middle schoolers have many skills and talents; keeping track of their clothing is typically not among them. We know this can be frustrating to parents. As a reminder, we encourage you to:
- Label your child’s clothing.
- Check your child’s clothing for labels of other students.
- Reiterate our message that, when changing for athletics, they should immediately put their school clothes in their backpacks (rather than locker room shelves).
Summer on the Hill Highlight: Clay Camp: Mud n' Fire
Get fired up! Join Ms. Cardone this summer at the clay studio for a two-week intensive in ceramics. This camp introduces young potters to a variety of construction, decorating and firing methods. Whether working to create sculpture, hand building forms, or on the potter's wheel, students learn in a supportive and small class setting with plenty of individual instruction and inspiration from one another as well as our teaching artists. Clay Camp is designed for all skill levels to develop technical ability with clay while exploring unique ideas and expressions. Each camper will create a body of work they can both use and admire for many years to come. We will host an exhibition of the artist's works at the conclusion of the session with a reception for all to come and enjoy the work and visit with our artists. This camp’s dates: June 15-26 (closed on June 19). Students in rising grades 5-8 are encouraged to register here!
