From The Head of School – November 15, 2023

NOVEMBER 15, 2023

Flint Hill Community,

Last week, as a part of our Veterans Day celebrations, Upper School students worked with our Lower School students to write thank you notes to military veterans. It is moments like these, facilitated by our dedicated faculty, which make being a part of a JK-12 campus so special. Not only do our younger Huskies have the opportunity to connect with and learn from our older students, but it brings a sense of pride and joy to our Upper School students to serve as mentors to our little ones.

It was also another example of gratitude in action at Flint Hill – taking a moment from our busy lives to thank others who have served the greater needs of the community. To those students sharing that gratitude and to all within our Flint Hill community and beyond who have served, THANK YOU.

In a similar vein, we aim to recognize excellence in service to Flint Hill each year, celebrating the driving spirit of our employees who make this place special every day.

Each year, we solicit nominations for the Driving Spirit Award from our entire community. The Driving Spirit Award recognizes current Flint Hill employees who lead by example through their dedication to students, faculty, or the Flint Hill community at large, as evidenced by their ability to energize and inspire the Husky community. Their embodiment of the Driving Spirit makes our School the special and unique place we all love, a place that respects and values all equally, leads and supports with compassion, acts with integrity, where we are inspired to imagine what’s possible and blaze a trail.

Please, take a moment to think about the exceptional employees of Flint Hill who you believe fit this description. Then, complete this nomination form by Thursday, January 4, to share that recognition. Winners will be announced at the Flint Hill Day Ceremony on January 30.

Sincerely,

Patrick McHonett
Head of School
