From The Head of School – March 27, 2024

March 27, 2024

Flint Hill Community,

I hope you and your family had a wonderful spring break. As we welcomed back students onto campus on Monday, there is a collective excitement for what’s to come in the next 10 weeks — culminating in a celebration of the Flint Hill Class of 2024 at Commencement in June.

A major milestone for many of our Huskies takes place tomorrow night — the annual Flint Hill Arts Jam performance at George Mason University (7:00 p.m., George Mason Center for the Arts, 4373 Mason Pond Dr, Fairfax, VA 22030). This all-community event is free and open to the public, and features performances from our Upper School music, theater, and dance students, as led by our outstanding Fine Arts faculty and staff.

Throughout this school year, our Upper School performing arts students have engaged in dedicated growth and development of their creative and performance skills, and this event is a key performance for our entire community to see their tremendous talent and dedication to craft. It is also a rare opportunity for our students to perform on a professional stage, with all the tech and trappings of a Broadway performance venue. I invite you, along with your family and friends, to come out to hear the incredible work of our students, teachers, and community as we listen, sing, dance, and celebrate the outstanding work of our performing arts students and faculty.

I look forward to seeing you tomorrow night at GMU!

Go Huskies!

Sincerely,

Patrick McHonett
Head of School
