The Head of School – May 13, 2026
May 13, 2026
Flint Hill Community,
As we enter the final push of the school year, these weeks can feel like a series of “lasts” — last morning meeting, last test or presentation, last home sporting event or concert. For our Huskies, these moments can feel exciting, scary, bittersweet — or all of the above — particularly for those approaching a divisional transition or, for our seniors, the closing weeks of their Flint Hill journey. I am, as always, grateful to our families, faculty, and staff for the tremendous support and celebration they provide during these pivotal moments.
Similarly, a handful of our employees are approaching their own series of “lasts” at Flint Hill. Within the divisional newsletters, we are sharing the names of Husky team members who will embark on their next chapter upon completion of the 2025-26 school year. We are incredibly fortunate to have a dedicated faculty and staff, with many devoting years — and in some cases decades — of their professional lives to our students and community. It is with deep appreciation, and admittedly heavy hearts, that we bid farewell when colleagues move on to retirement, relocation, family priorities, or new professional adventures.
These transitions also connect directly to one of the most important commitments within our Strategic Vision: to Attract, Develop, and Retain Exceptional Educators. Simply put, the strength of the Flint Hill experience depends on the strength of the adults who work with our students every day. Great schools are built by great people — teachers, coaches, advisors, counselors, staff members, and administrators who bring expertise, care, creativity, and a deep belief in students to their work.
That is why, as we have been hiring for the year ahead, we are focused on finding outstanding educators — rising stars and seasoned experts alike — who align with Flint Hill’s mission, values, and culture. We will proactively recruit talented educators drawn to our student-centered, innovative, and relationship-driven approach. And we will continue investing in the conditions that help exceptional people do exceptional work — including competitive salary and benefits, meaningful professional growth, and a workplace culture rooted in trust, collaboration, purpose, and care.
Our ongoing focus is to ensure that we have the best educators working with our students each day — and that Flint Hill is a place where outstanding educators want to come, grow, contribute, and stay. I am thrilled with the quality, expertise, and mission-alignment of the new hires who will join us in the fall, and we will share more about that incoming group of Husky team members later this summer.
For now, this is a moment for gratitude. I hope you’ll join me in a big thank you to the individuals leaving us at the end of the academic year, as well as all those who dedicate themselves to Flint Hill and our Huskies every year. Their impact is felt in classrooms, offices, fields, studios, hallways, and countless quiet moments of care and connection — and our community is better because of their work.
Go Huskies!
