Flint Hill Athletics Director

Dear Flint Hill Families,

Welcome to the 2026-27 school year! I hope your family has enjoyed a restful summer and is looking forward to another exciting year.

With fall practices and competitions just around the corner, there is a great deal of energy and anticipation brewing in our athletic program. We are eager to welcome our returning Huskies back to campus while also introducing many students and families to Flint Hill Athletics for the very first time.

The beginning of a new athletic season is one of my favorite times of the year. It represents fresh opportunities, new goals, and the chance for students to challenge themselves, build meaningful relationships, and create lasting memories. While we certainly enjoy competing and pursuing excellence, our program is rooted in something much deeper. Athletics is an extension of the educational experience at Flint Hill, designed to help students grow as teammates, leaders, learners, and people of character through experiences meant to challenge and inspire them.

As we begin another year together, I'd encourage every family to take a few moments to review our Athletics Philosophy. It serves as the foundation for the decisions we make, the experiences we strive to create, and the expectations we establish for our coaches and student-athletes. Whether discussing team placement, playing time, competitive goals, or the values we emphasize each day, our philosophy helps ensure that every aspect of our program remains aligned with our mission of competitive athletics educating the whole child.

One of the most important ingredients in a successful athletic experience is the partnership between home and school. Our coaches invest tremendous time and care into helping students grow throughout the season, and we are grateful for the trust you place in them. Likewise, parents play an invaluable role by encouraging resilience, celebrating effort, modeling sportsmanship, and helping students maintain perspective through both successes and setbacks. When coaches, parents, and the Athletic Department work together with shared expectations and open communication, our students benefit in meaningful ways.

As the preseason begins, many of our Upper and Middle School teams will conduct tryouts and finalize team rosters. We recognize that this process can be both exciting and emotional. While some students will celebrate achieving a goal, others may experience disappointment if the outcome isn't what they had hoped for. Those moments are never easy, but they are also among the many life lessons that athletics uniquely provide. We encourage students to view challenges as opportunities for growth, to continue pursuing their goals with determination, and to remember that an individual's value is never defined by a team placement. Our commitment remains to help every student find meaningful opportunities to develop, compete, and belong within our program whenever possible.

As the season unfolds, we hope you'll join us often to cheer on our Huskies. Your enthusiasm, positivity, and sportsmanship help create an environment that reflects the very best of our community and provides a memorable experience for every student-athlete.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support of Flint Hill Athletics. We are excited for all that lies ahead and look forward to another outstanding year of learning, growth, competition, and school spirit.

Go Huskies!
