Psychology of the Movies

Students will learn how to apply psychology concepts to the real world and help them separate fact from fiction. Additionally, students will learn how to be thoughtful and critical about what is presented in the mainstream media when it comes to psychology and mental health. A portion of the class will consist of general psychology, with an emphasis on cognitive psychology, biological psychology, and sociocultural psychology. Another portion of the class will be devoted to the study of abnormal psychology. A third portion of the class will be devoted to the application of psychology to contemporary PG and PG-13 films.
